In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.” Desiderius Erasmus, 1536 A.D.
“All the wretched mess that exists in the organization of Christianity today would have never come about. It is because something specific in itself, either a movement, a mission, a teaching, a testimony, a fellowship, has taken the place of Christ…Now beloved, an inward revelation (of Christ in you the hope of Glory) is the cure of all that.” T. Austin Sparks
Five-stories tall, and ever-growing, a gigantic man steps out on center stage, and likely does not disappoint the ant-like crowd he towers over, rewarding those with total satisfaction who have journeyed the four corners of the earth just to catch a glimpse of him. Their jaws drop, their mouths hang open, and all eyes gaze upon him, whose strength and power is unequaled among mortal men. Monstrously huge and awe inspiring, this human colossus commands their fullest attention…and their worship.
He has many names
Vastly popular throughout the world, he is known by various names, penned by people with good intentions. In some parts, he is called missional. In others, he goes by the name of movements. He also has been known to answer to a whole slew of others like disciple making, free thinkers, bible-centered, and apostolic network, ect… And, now most recently, he has added organic, simple and home church to his list of aliases. Often, this man-made colossus is actually a conglomerate of most, or all, of these meshed together. “I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit together at the table of brotherhood.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us [the same way] so that the world will believe you sent me. I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” Jesus Christ (John 17:21-23)
Today most of us will be sitting at a table — with those whom we know, and those whom we don’t — on Thanksgiving Day sharing a meal together. (And for those who may read this later, it will be when you celebrate this holiday next) Many times, this senario ocurrs: we enjoy the food, begin to feel much more comfortable, and then some of us do the worst thing possible…we open our mouths and speak when we should have just inserted a drumstick, or cake, or even our own foot. Words are said that cannot be taken back, debates and controversies arise, and now the event that was just moments before . . . → Read More: An INSIDE Look into Daily Organic Church Life: The Glorious Expression of the Lord Jesus Christ at the table of Brotherhood

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” Luke 9:23-24
”Organic church life is the most glorious experience a Christian can know. But it doesn’t work, it never has worked, and it never will work unless you embrace the cross. The church of Jesus Christ — in experience — only works when the members are laying their lives down, “losing their lives,” submitting to one another and to their Lord, and giving Christ room to live, move, and have His being. For this reason, authentic body life is one of the most glorious — yet difficult — things a Christian can get involved in. It’s a railroad track to the cross. And this is one of the reasons why it’s so incredibly transforming.” Frank Viola
I once heard of a farmer who was so hungry one morning that he had to tell his animals about it, so, as the story goes, because they loved their master, they decided to give him the best breakfast ever. The first who came to him was the chicken who proudly offered up one of her best eggs, then followed the cow who gladly gave her finest milk, and last but not least, came the pig who was so sad because . . . → Read More: REAL Organic Church Life: A Community of the Cross
